Dr. Mari Elka Pangestu has held significant portfolios as a minister (trade, tourism/creative economy) in Indonesia’s government and currently is Vice Chair of President Prabowo’s National Economic Council (DEN). She is also a key member of Indonesia’s high-level delegationinterfacing with the US government over tariffs and other issues. From 2020-2023 Pangestu served as a Managing Director at the World Bank and she has also taught economics at the University of Indonesia, Australian National University, and Columbia University. Early in her carerer she edited the prestigious Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies.
Shaanti Shamdasaniis a seasoned public policy and business consultant, known for her expertise on ASEAN matters with a focus on international trade, economic, and political analysis. She is the Founder/CEO of Strategic (S). ASEAN International Advocacy & Consultancy (with offices in 4 countries in Southeast Asia) and was the advisor to the ASEAN Secretariat on ASEAN Economic Community as well as President of Indonesia (year 2010 Indonesia Chairmanship, President Bambang Yudhoyono) on geopolitics & economic matters. Before opening her own business, Shamdasani was Indonesia Country Manager for two US pharmaceutical firms (Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer). She was also the Co-Chair of G20 Indonesia and was on the  Board of Governors of Amcham Indonesia (2 terms).
